King of the Ladder - NYC Foosball Singles Leagues
So we were trying to figure out a way to encourage people to learn how to play singles since we don't have a regular singles tournament. We decided we wanted to try to run a ladder type system and we found this website to help us. This whole thing is based on the honor system and if people take it seriously it could be really fun. It'll also help your singles game in a tournament type atmosphere.
The Instructions:
- Visit the external website where we've setup a ladder system and sign up.
http://www.nycfoosball.com/leagues (this will redirect you to another site)
- Sign up and then find the "+ join this league" button on the left on nycfoosball league home page (go here again http://www.nycfoosball.com/leagues) .
- Find someone and challenge them. Note you can only challenge someone up to 3 spots above you and you can only challenge 1 person at a time (so make sure both can schedule a match). You automatically start at the bottom when you sign up, unless someone else signs up after you, obviously.
- New Now schedule a time to play your ladder match either on nycfoosball.com/messages or send them a PM off nycfoosball.com.
- You have 10 days to complete your challenge and submit the results. Play anywhere and whenever you can (I imagine most people will play on Tuesdays since it'll be easiest). We're doing best of 3 games (2 out of 3) matches, coin flip at the start, enforce all rules, etc. just like you would at a real tournament. Let's say the winner should post results (but either person can).
- You move up the ladder by challenging and beating people above you.
- Get to the top!!
Sign up early if you don't want to start at the bottom. No money involved, just pride!!
Also please don't sign up if you don't think you will be able to participate regularly. This is going to be a slow process as it is.
Also please let me know if you have any feedback, concerns, suggestions, ideas, etc. questions@nycfoosball.com. This is all experimental so be gentle.
Have fun!!
